Expert Q & A Answers About
My friend might have HPV...she went to the doctor to get tested and she’s waiting for the results. Assuming she does have HPV, what are the chances that she can continue to have a normal sex life?
My boyfriend and I both have HPV. I performed oral sex on him two days ago and today I noticed white spots on the back of my throat. He doesn’t have any visible warts on his penis. Could HPV be the cause of the white spots on my throat? How do I get rid of them? What precautions should we take during sex?
I just found out I’m pregnant...and I think I may have genital warts. I have small bumps on my labia, but nowhere else. The bumps are sometimes itchy. My husband doesn’t have any visible signs of bumps on his penis. If I do have genital warts, can I treat or cure them during pregnancy? Do genital warts affect the baby during delivery? Should I ask my doctor for a test when I go for a check up, or just wait until I have the baby if there’s nothing I can do before birth?
A year and a half ago I was diagnosed with HPV and moderate cervical dysplasia. I had the LEEP procedure and have been getting Pap tests every six months. My doctors say that everything has healed well...and even though my Pap tests are still abnormal. My problem is that when I have sex, I feel a slightly painful pressure on my cervix. What could cause this?
Today I went to my gynecologist for a colposcopy and biopsy. She said I most likely have HPV...the kind that causes cancer. I feel devastated, dirty and ashamed. I’ve never been promiscuous. I’ve only had three sexual partners and two of them were husbands. With my other partner, we used condoms and that was over nine years ago in my early teens. Now I’m a married Mennonite woman with three children and I’m afraid to have sex with my husband because I’m afraid he’ll get HPV. Neither of us have any visible signs of warts. Should he get tested? How could this hurt him if he has it?
Are there different types of HPV? If I have the kind that causes cervical cancer...will I also get genital warts?
Are all human papillomavirus (HPV) strains the same? I had an abnormal Pap smear and my doctor says I have HPV which can lead to cervical cancer if left untreated. Does that mean I could also get genital warts?
I was recently diagnosed with an HPV outbreak on my anus and I’ve had outbreaks on my penis before. Now, it looks like I might have a wart or a stye on my eyelid. Are there treatments for my eyelid (if it is a wart)? I’m a little disturbed by this whole thing and would appreciate your help.
I just got diagnosed with HPV (genital warts) through a Pap smear. I’ve been dating my boyfriend for six months...how do I tell my partner I have genital warts? I’m also wondering if I got them from him cheating on me. Can you help?
My girlfriend and I just started experimenting sexually and now I have some bumps on my genitals. We haven’t even had sex yet...but I put two fingers in her vagina and then masturbated an hour later without washing my hands. Can I get genital warts from this?
My boyfriend has genital warts. I don’t understand how I could get infected. If I stimulate him by hand (I mean by giving him a hand job), will I get infected...even if I don’t see any warts?
