Expert Q & A Answers About Sexually Transmitted Diseases
I HAVE RECENTLY NOTICED A SMALL PAPER CUT LIKE CUT ON THE LIP OF MY VAGINA? WHAT SHOULD I DO? I'M NOT SURE AS TO HOW OR WHY I HAVE GOT THIS CUT. IT'S A BURNING STINGING PAIN WHEN I USE THE RESTROOM OR SHOWER. FROM WHAT I HAVE SEEN FROM REVIEWS TS CAN BE CAUSED BY A YEAST INFECTION? HOW DOES A YEAST INFECTION CAUSE A CUT? I WAS TREATED FOR A RECENT YEAST INFECTION WITH A ONE TIME PILL. BUT A FEW DAYS AFTER THE INFECTION IS NOW BACK. I DON'T BELIEVE IT CAN BE AN STD BECAUSE I WAS TESTED IN DECEMBER AND EVERYTHING CAME BACK FINE AND I HAVE NOT BEEN SEXUALLY ACTIVE SINCE OCTOBER? CAN IT STILL BE A CHANCE I MAY HAVE AN STD?
I'm a 33-year old male who has never had unprotected sex. A few nights ago, me and some people I didn't know were passing around a hand-rolled joint. It fell on the ground, I picked it up and smoked it. two days later, bronchitis and sinusitis developed. The next day (yesterday, Jan. 2), it was so bad I could barely talk. I've been on antibiotics, my doc diagnosed it as acute bronchitis and sinusitis, and I'm improving. I have not been tested, but what are my chances that it is actually HIV from the dirty spliff (marijuana cigarette)?
17 days ago i had unprotected sex. two days after i noticed a rash develop on the head of my penis and foreskin. it was not itchy or painful at first. there appeared to be tiny red bumps but they could be touched without pain. after day 5 the penis head and foreskin became very itchy. its now 17 days later , the rash has nearly disappeared and the bumps are gone. the penis is not itchy anymore. i didn't not have any pain / sores or blisters throughout the 17 days. the skin became dry and began to peel off however . two days ago(day 15) i started to develop cold like symptoms . i then drank a large amount of alcohol that night(st paddys day!) . on day 16 i had flu like symptoms , i thought it was a hangover but still have them ,albeit not nearly as bad , on day 17 . however i remember reading herpes is assosciated with flu like symptoms . i am only young and very worried
Hello Doc, I had anal sex with a guy on July 28th of 2011. Protected, (except for oral) and safe. Ive been with about 10 men (7 of which were oral no swallowing) Ive taken all the STD precautions I need including getting tested every few months. Even though I havent done anything risky for years...Then I learned about HPV and pretty much freaked out. An STD that can be transferred by skin to skin contact, without symptoms, without a cure, and you can walk around for years and not know? Its all been psychological since then. Im very fearful I could have contracted genital warts in the past and it is lying dormant in my body. Any time any type of "bump" has popped up on my penis I have been to the doctor within 48 hours. Always turns out to be nothing. The fear of HPV is taking over my life and knowing I likely have contracted it.I recieved the gaurdasil shots back in march and of course, 0 symptoms. I have had unprotected anal sex once (stupid mistake) 2 years ago now. But since then, No way. My question is, should I be worried about HPV as a healthy, Hiv-negitive, gay male? Even if I did have it, would my body have cleared it by now without even showing symptoms? or is it possible they will show up years from now? How many gay men actually have genital warts? (Of course most have HPV, but actual warts?) and are warts as common as the internet claims. (HPV is...but warts?) Thank you for everything and of course, peace of mind
Hey there, I've recently noticed some bumps (about 3 in a row) on the lower, left-hand side of my vagina, just outside the vaginal opening. The right-hand side is smooth. They do not itch or cause me any grief at all. They are the same color as the rest of the flesh around them (i.e., not white or red or anything). If I stretch the skin there, they will go flat. I am currently taking antibiotics for lyme's disease, and I've just recently fought off a yeast infection due to those antibiotics. I shave down there pretty regularly, but haven't since the yeast infection. I've also had a papsmear result that came back abnormal once, but the woman was not a specialist in gynecology. She told me I have HPV, but I know the papsmear doesn't tell you that, and she didn't ask me to follow up at all for something like a biopsy (strange, since some HPV is pre-cancerous). This leads me to believe she assumed I had HPV, without checking for possible other causes. Basically, I am wondering what those bumps could be. I have an appointment with a specialist soon, but it would be nice to have some input to ease my anxiety!
2days date 06/01/2012,I took antibiotics for clymidia 2 days ago and need 2 go get tested,if I was to get tested 2morrow with the antibiotics in my system would the results come back as negative or positive?? I'm being accussed of passing it on to my partner
I received unprotected oral sex from a sex worker. I actually do not know if she was HIV positive.. Didnt ejaculate in her mouth. After a short while of oral sex we had protected intercourse using a condom without breakage. Am I at a risk of exposure to HIV? Does this validate reasoning for testing?
I was tested at 6 wks and 11wks 3days. Both tests were negative but I'm still worried. I'm not a high risk or anything just the guy I was with I hadn't seen in yrs and I'm a little bit of a worrier so I wanna know if the 5 days from the 3 month window would make a difference. Thank you so much.
I had sex with my gf with condom on but vaginal fluid touched testes.ichting happens mostly over ther.is this sympton of hiv?
vaginal fluid flowed on testes.and even wore panty with vaginal fluid when condom was not on.can i be hiv affected?
I had given a hand job to someone four years ago, and it took me until now to be concerned. A year ago, I also gave another hand job. I do not know the STD status of either person. Now I am in a relationship and realize I could put my partner at risk. We have oral sex. I know that he is clean. I don't know what STDs to list, but any of them, all of them? Should I go get tested?
