Question:
I have painful intercourse, burning mostly and being very sore for several days afterwards. I burn and itch a little. I have been to my gynecologist but she says nothing is wrong, I am just built small and may have a "slight" yeast infection for which she gave me diflucan, which has not helped. Also I have a slight blush, like from a small scrape after urinating. Burning very much when I urinate. Help.... My partner and I are manogamous and he has no symptoms at all.

You might have a yeast infection or a urinary tract infection. If this is the case, your symptoms should clear after you take the oral or topical medication. If symptoms don't clear there are some other possibilities. You might be allergic to the latex in condoms or to spermicide. Another remote possibility is that you have a condition called vulvar vestibulitis. You can read more about this at www.nva.org. In any event, if your symptoms persist you also need to persist in finding an answer and medical help. Good luck.
