Question:
I have recently had sex with my new boyfriend and although i have had sex numerous times before this occasion i experienced bleeding during and after the sexual intercourse? I have never experienced bleeding during or after sexual intercourse before and i felt sore for at least 3 days after this occasion. I thought that maybe he just has a larger penis than other people that i have slept with as i am not due my period for another week and a half becasue i am on the pill. Please reply

First of all, you may want to ask yourself some questions with regard to this situation, such as, how large your partner’s penis is, were you adequately aroused, was the penetration deeper or rougher than you are accustomed to? Sometimes, a larger penis, coupled with being inadequately aroused, can cause some vaginal bleeding. Or if the sex was deeper than you are accustomed to, or rough, tearing of the vaginal lining could occur and cause some bleeding. Given the fact you were sore for some time afterward, this could be the case. You may want to assess this information, and if it applies, allow more time for you arousal, and/or use some lubrication in order to reduce friction of the vaginal lining. If the bleeding persists, or gets worse, you should see a doctor in order to rule out any physical problems that may be the cause.
