Question:
Within about 5 to 10 seconds after having an orgasm I get a terrible pain that shoots down my left leg. It radiates from my knee and goes down to my ankle. The pain lasts between 10 and 15 minutes. This has been happening for about the last 4 weeks. Any idea what this could be, and how can I get it to stop? I would appreciate any help you can give me. Thanks.

Post ejaculatory pain could be related to various conditions, psychological or physical in origin. Pains related to inflammatory causes (e.g. prostatitis), muscular causes (e.g. muscle spasm), neurogenic disorders (e.g. disc disease), or radiating pain related to urologic conditions (e.g. stone disease) are possible but unlikely to be limited only to ejaculation. A psychogenic pain disorder is also a possibility. I advise you to visit a Urologist / Andrologist to evaluate possible physical causes of this pain. Editors note: I believe this question is from a female rather than a male. If so, I would suggest you consult with your doctor about this. There could be a variety of causes here: muscular, vascular, or it could simply be related to position during sex. Patty Fawver, editor
