You need to make an appointment with your gynecologist or health care provider soon. The problems you are experiencing could be caused by a number of things. Stress, changes in diet or exercise patterns, illness, hormonal changes, infections, pregnancy, peri-menopause or other gynecological problems can all cause changes in the menstrual cycle. I do not know your age, but that would certainly be a factor in helping the doctor determine what is causing the problem. If you are a teenager and have always had irregular cycles, the cause would be different than if your are a fifty year old woman about to enter menopause. The doctor will likely want to know about your recent sexual activity and also about any other symptoms or changes you have noticed. It would be a good idea for you to make a list of these concerns to take with you to your doctor visit. Also bring with you the dates of your recent periods to help the doctor determine if there is a pattern. Any time there is a change in the menstrual cycles like this, it is important to get it evaluated by a doctor. So, please don't worry too much, but do call your doctor or local clinic right away and get in for an appointment. Whatever is causing the problem, it's important that you get it diagnosed soon so that you can begin the treatment. Take care, Patty Fawver
