Question:
I am 16 and I have never had an orgasm. About a year ago, I started taking the antidepressant Paxil. After about 6 months of taking this, I stopped feeling the sensations of getting aroused. I still get aroused, but I doesn't feel good anymore and I haven't gotten lubricated or "wet" in 7 months. Now, I can masturbate for 2 hours straight and not have anything happen. My boyfriend has also tried and still nothing. Now I am taking Zoloft, but my conditions aren't improving. Will this ever wear off and what can I do about it?

This still may well be a side effect of your medication. Have you discussed this with the doctor who prescribed the medication? I know it may seem embarassing but if it is important to your happiness then take the chance and dicsuss it. They can try a different medication. Never stop or change your medication without consulting your doctor first. Best of luck to you. Dr. Tepper
