Question:
My girlfriend seems to have a problem with vaginal lubrication. We have been together now for about a year. She was a virgin before me. She says, and it appears that she is able to reach orgasim but there is next to no lubrication. We have tried everything but nothing seems to work. We were wondering if maybe I wasnt doing something right or maybe there is a bigger problem. She is on the pill Tri something or other if that is relavant, and we just wanted some advice. Thank-you. Luke

I suggest your girlfriend discuss the lubrication problem with her doctor. The pill she is on may be causing this side effect and it's likely that by switching to a different contraceptive pill she will benefit. In the meantime, use plenty of lubricant when you have sex and be sure that you have spent enough time in foreplay before entering her. Problems with lubrication are often the result of simple lack of time and attention given to the arousal process. Good luck, Dr. Joy Davidson
