It’s very responsible of you to be so concerned about an unplanned pregnancy. You’ve asked several questions that require some clarification. Birth control can be quite a dilemma in choosing something that’s effective, but also to understand your part of the responsibility.
The pill makes your girlfriend's body think she is already pregnant & so doesn’t produce an egg to be fertilized. If she’s taking low-dose birth control pills it’s important that she take them at the same time each day. Depending upon the type & dosage of birth control pill she is taking, antibiotics could potentially affect the pill being absorbed into her blood stream. However, a more important point is that she apparently just began taking her pills. If so, it’s usually best to continue using other birth control, like condoms, until she has taken them for one cycle - a month. This is recommended because the 1st month can’t offer 100% protection from ovulation occurring.
As to her not having an orgasm, you might, as a couple, consider other ways besides intercourse to stimulate her. Most females don’t get enough stimulation by intercourse alone to orgasm. A lovely side benefit is that none of the other ways to bring her to orgasm have the worry of unintended pregnancy.
Your concerns about precum & wiping off the semen have some merit so I can’t tell you she didn’t get pregnant. The morning after pill must be taken 72 hours after unprotected intercourse, but you should know that it isn’t always effective. It won’t terminate a pregnancy, but it will decrease the chances of a pregnancy occurring.
I suggest that you have your girlfriend phone the place she obtained her birth control pills & talk to them in detail about your concerns. Let us know if we can be of further help & continue that good sense of responsibility!Reviewed by: Patricia Fawver Ph.D. in Sexology
