Question:
I am a 32yr old woman and been married to my
husband for 13yrs. We have always had great sex but
recently (6months) I dry up as soon as he tries to enter.
I am excited and wet before but as soon as we try I can
feel myself drying and he get very angry at me. I have
no control over this and it is very frustrating to me as
well. There are many topics on male incompetence but
is there such a thing with women?

Vaginal lubrication is something that you cannot
consciously control. It is not uncommon for women to
notice a decrease in the amount of lubrication she
produces as she ages. Also use of certain medications
such as antihistamines can cause a reduction in the
amount of lubrication a women produces. If the lack of
lubrication interferes with your sexual
activites/pleasures you should supplement your own
bodies lubrication with a water based lubricant. Check
out your local pharmacy for over the counter products
such as Astroglide or Replens.
It is also important to openly communicate your
concerns with your husband. If you are becoming
stressed over this problem it may also be contributing
to your decrease in lubrication.Reviewed by Sexual Health Editorial Team
