Question:
Im a 15 year old girl, and me and my (girl) friend are pretty close and open to each other. One day my friend ask if i was scared that my vigina was different than other girls i told her yes, We showd each our vigina's not in a dirty way but to see if they were the same, hers was just two lips that came together, mine was that but i had two dangly things further back that hung outside of those two and then some weird thing above them i think they call it the g-spot, at the begining of the spliting of my two outter lips. i was wondering Am I Normal? i read some article online and it said if you play sports which i do (basketball, volleyball, softball,) they say that middle stuff tends to be larger. is that true? Thanks, Lolliepop1218

First of all, let me begin by saying that no two people are alike in any way! And when it comes to our genitals (vagina and penises) this is also true as well. The outer structure (or vulva) of the female genitals will vary from woman to woman, and this is quite normal. Just below the pubic bone (where the vaginal lips begin to split) is the clitoris - which is covered by a flap of skin known as the clitoral hood. This may be the area you refer to. Every woman is born with a clitoris, and this is the main source of sexual pleasure and orgasm for females. As with breast size, clitoral size is not always the same for individual women. Some are small, and seem to hide, while others are larger and may be more visible. Both are normal, just different. Differences in size and shape will not affect our ability to function sexually or to have orgasms. The G-spot (or grafenberg spot) is actually inside the vagina, just behind the pubic bone, and not visible from the outside. It can be another source of female pleasure that can lead to orgasm. Sometimes, it can be located with your fingers. You may know you have located the area, because the pressure at first makes us feel like we have to pee. The inner lips of the vagina are called the labia minora, and they are surrounded by thicker folds of skin called the labia majora. These labia will be different shades of color, texture and size from woman to woman. The labia fill with blood as a woman becomes sexually aroused and may swell in size and shape also. Again, vulva's come in all shapes and sizes, so there is no need for alarm, it sounds as if you are very normal to me. Sports may affect the size of the labia by causing them to stretch or lengthen, but many women play sports, so rest assured, there is nothing to fear! As far as worrying about future sex partners, relax and know that each and every one of us is unique in our own ways.
