Question:
I am most concerned about whether or not a condom can come off during intercourse in the vagina. I'm worried that if this has happened, would it be easy to retrieve or would it be a serious medical emergency. Obviously, I don't think it is an emergency. Can this actually happen and if it has happened, would the condom slowly come out? I've searched and didn't find the condom inside me, so does that mean it isn't there or could it be beyond my reach?

Yes condoms can come off during intercourse, especially if you grip the penis tightly whilst he is withdrawing it. However, I have not known of any case where the condom got left inside and got lost. It is difficult not to reach within your vagina (unless you are too fat) but if you can insert your fingers as far as the cervix, and you can not retrieve the condom, it possibly isn't there. However if you are concerned, the best approach is to visit your doctor. The obvious danger of the condom remaining in the vagina is: 1. Probability of pregnancy. 2. Probability of transmission of sexually transmitted disease. (If the partner is infected)
