Question:
I have been on the pill for 8 years and would like to know about alternative methods of contraception. I have a partner of 3 years. Can you provide information on the male pill. Is this effective

Dear Madam. The pill is one of the best choices for contraception. The third generation pills (those present in most countries nowadays) seem to be safe enough to take as long as you need to. If you need a 'rest' as you said, you may use the condom for a while, then back to it. Injectables (shots) may be another alternative, once every 1 or 3 months. I have not enough information to support male pills as a contraceptive.
