Question:
If i had sex with my girlfriend but neither of us have an std, can an std form on its own or do you have to have sex with an infected partner? and also I have had unprotected sex with my girlfriend using baby oil and now I have little sort of pimples on the bottom of my head of my penis could that be by using the baby oil? or could it be something else?

Thank you for submitting your question. Most STDs cannot "appear" out of the blue. However, viruses like herpes can be transmitted sexually (even if you only have it orally). This is why it is never a good idea to have unprotected sex. You are always at risk for pregnancy and STDs. The other thing to consider is, how well do you know your partner? And are you sure that neither of you have ever been exposed to an STD? It is possible to pass one even if you are not showing symptoms. As for the pimples on the base of your penis, these may be caused by the baby oil. It is never a good idea to use any type of oil as a lubricant for sex. It can breed bacteria and in turn, give you and your partner an infection. (And if you are using condoms, oil will tear the latex). There are great water-based lubricants on the market (at any drugstore) that you can use during sex. (A good example is KY jelly). But I am not a medical doctor, and if you are concerned about these "pimples", then you should see your doctor and have them checked out. Your doctor can also give you a test to make sure that you do not have any STDs. I hope this information helps!
