There are lots of skin diseases that can affect genitals. The lesion/pimple on his penis should be checked immediately by your sex partner’s doctor, who can refer him to a dermatologist (skin specialist) if the diagnosis is difficult to determine. Your new sex partner can only know whether he has HPV by medical evaluation. I’m also concerned that you begin protecting yourself from HIV/AIDS & other sexually transmitted diseases (STD). Unless you have only one sexual partner who has sex only with you, you are at risk of getting a STD. Condoms used correctly every time you have sex provide protection for the skin that is covered. But since all genital skin isn’t covered, condoms can’t give your partners 100% protection from HPV. You can keep up with the latest findings on genital warts at the National HPV & Cervical Cancer Resource Center’s website. Of course, you’re welcome to submit further questions to us.
