Research has shown that acquiring one type of sexually transmitted infection increases the likelihood that an individual was exposed to other STDs, including HIV. This has mostly to do with the lack of protection in preventing the spread of STDs, including HIV. To reduce your risk of acquiring an STD or HIV, whether or not you have an STD like chlamydia, be sure to use protection. This also helps to protect your partner as well.
