Any time you have unprotected sex, you put yourself at risk for HIV. Even though your partner may have never had sexual intercourse before, your girlfriend could have been exposed to HIV, or other STDs, through other sexual behaviors, e.g., oral sex, or practices, e.g., drug use. Since many symptoms of HIV do not manifest for up to 10 years, you're not going to know if you've been exposed to the virus unless you get an HIV-test. To put your mind at ease, your best bet is to get tested. A better idea would be for your girlfriend to get tested with you too, and for the two of you to use a condom from here on out to avoid such scares!
