While I know that you're hesitant to be examined by a doctor, only a physician can best determine your condition and make sure that it's treated properly. Based on what you describe, you may have genital herpes, which very well could have been transmitted via oral sex by an oral herpes sore. In case your partner isn't already infected, it would be wise to refrain from intercourse while you have an outbreak. While condoms can offer some protection, they don't always prevent transmission of the herpes virus. Thank you for visiting the Sexual Health Network. Yvonne K. Fulbright, MS.Ed.
