Question:
Dear Yvonne,
First i'll begin with a little history. My boyfriend and i have been together for almost 2 years. Before we began to have sexual relations we were both tested by our doctors for STD's. THey came out neg. I see my gynecologist for my yearly exam, just had one completed and everything came back fine. Just this week i noticed a bump that looked exactly like a pimple on the outside of my vagina. It was causing some pressure so i popped it and sinse then it is now healing. Should i be concerned or is this just a pimple.

Given that you just had a check-up, the pimple you describe is most likely that - a pimple. There is a slight chance that it could be a herpes sore and to be sure, you'd have to go back to your physician for a diagnosis. Such a herpes sore could be due to the fact that some people can be carriers (yet never show symptoms), to a person having a cold sore during oral sex, or from sexual relations with someone who is infected. Using a condom during sexual relations greatly reduces the risk of herpes infection.
