Question:
Awkward and Painful My partner wants me to perform oral sex on him and I am finding this difficult. I am a C4 quad without much trunk stability or strength in my arms so it is easiest for me to lie on my back while being sexual. This is not working out well with oral sex as it is awkward, painful and I gag. Do you have any suggestions for other positions?

By Mitch Tepper, Lizzi McNeff and Patti McNeff Try lying on your strongest side with pillows supporting your back so you don't roll over. You may also want pillows in front to increase your stability. Your partner can then position himself on his side. If you are lying in an elevated position--perhaps with a blanket folded underneath you--he may be able to kneel while facing you. Both positions are flexible and can free up both partners' hands for further stimulation. How about using your chair? Your partner can simply stand and you've got walk-up/drive-in oral sex! If you can, use your hands as well as your mouth. If you rest one of your legs on the strap of your chair or the seat itself, your partner will have excellent access to your genitals, too. A high bed might offer yet another variation on this theme. Lips and tongues are extremely sensitive to touch, and the texture, taste and smell of your partner can also contribute to your pleasure. While these remarks address fellatio, meaning oral stimulation of the man's penis, they are equally applicable to cunnilingus, oral stimulation of the woman's vulva and clitoris. Be patient, be flexible, and remember that practice makes perfect. --Lizzi McNeff
