Question:
I was with a girl about 4 weeks ago and both of us were on the rebound. We were messing about and ended up naked in my bed. As nneither of us really wanted it we didnt have intercourse but she did lay on top of me for a bit as we tried to arouse each other. I am going for a checkup at the doctors but was wondering what the likelihood of having contracted an STD is please? Thankyou

You’re wise to learn more about STI's. If one of you had herpes &/or genital warts it is possible to transmit these sexually transmitted diseases (STD) by skin to skin contact without sexual intercourse. These STI's can also be transmitted using latex condoms during intercourse because the lesions or warts can be present in areas that the condom doesn’t provide a barrier. Here are the main things to understand about effectively reducing the risk of HIV/STD infection: ·use latex condoms correctly & consistently for vaginal, anal & mouth to penis contact ·use moisture barriers like plastic wrap during other types of oral sex ·put condom on as soon as erection occurs & before any sexual contact ·leave a space in the tip of the condom to hold ejaculate ·use water-based lubricant during anal & vaginal sex as oil-based lubes can weaken the condom ·hold the condom firmly & withdraw from the partner immediately after ejaculation Keep learning about your sexual health!
