Question:
I recently began dating a wonderful woman, and we have had sex several times. I have used a condom, and while I can maintain an erection pretty well, I cannot feel enough through the latex to ejaculate. I can ejaculate just fine if we do oral sex, and during masturbation (with and without the condom), but not during actual intercourse, no matter what position we try or what type of condom I use. She's getting her tubes tied pretty soon, after which I get to discard the condoms. But I (and she) can't help but wonder: is it the condom, or some other problem? And is this a common problem for guys who use condoms?

Have you tried putting 3-4 drops of lubricant inside the condom tip before you roll it down over the penis? This usually helps out a lot as it gives it more of that slip and slide sensation that is lost with a condom. I would also recommend using Durex large or ultra comfort or Trojan large condoms. But Megan! you yell, I'm not THAT big...try it, the extra room gives men more sensation, even though you aren't THAT big. :) And to answer your other question, yes, lots of men deal with what you are struggling with, but most find that with lube and a little extra room things improve. The only thing I question is you say you have no problem coming with the condom on through oral sex? If this is the case, I would suggest some vaginal toning that she could do. Now, don't let her panties get in a bunch, not many people are told to do vaginal exercises but believe me, this one is worth it. If her vaginal muscles haven't been doing their Kegel excercises, they can become a little slack. So, this is what she does. Have her locate the muscles she will be exercisng the next time she goes to urinate by stopping the flow of urine midstream. Those are the muscles she will be contracting and relaxing. She then (after she is done peeing) is going to go read, watch tv, take a walk, whatever and while she is doing this she is going to pretend that she is pulling water up into her vagina and holding it there. This contracts the muscles, she holds them and then releases. Do this 10 times 3 times a day. And no one will know she's doing it so she can do it while standing in line at the Deli Counter. If she does these daily for 2 weeks she will notice stronger orgasms,as exercisng these babies makes your OOOOHHHH! much stronger. You will notice a more toned vagina. You both will be happy campers. Let me know how things work out and thanks for writing in!
