Question:
Is it safe for me to preform oral sex on my girlfriend while she is menstrating if she does not have any STD's

Answer:

Since vaginal secretions are one way that STDs and HIV can be spread, you need to be weary about getting infected when performing oral sex on a female while she's menstruating. If you're sure that your girlfriend is STD free, then you shouldn't have anything to worry about as far as those infections go. However, if your girlfriend is infected with HIV, then the chances are greater that she can pass the virus along to you during her menstrual period. Thank you for visiting the Sexual Health Network.
