Hello! That is a very good question! As far as sexual health (nursing) practice in Australia, it depends what aspect of care you want to look at as to whether it is covered by private or public sector. Family Planning Associations in most states are the best ones at education (most are all trained teachers or RNs) and training. As far as the nurses themselves, the best answer I can give you is to refer you to a book called 'Behind the Screens - Nursing, Somology and the problem of the Body' by Jocalyn Lawler RN PhD, Churchill Livingstone Aust (1991) In this book she talks about many bodily issues with two sections addressing sexuality. Throughout the book are many nurses comments reflecting personal and professional values, morals and attitudes, which is very enlightening. Best Wishes, Melissa BEE
