Question:
I'm 55 years old, and generally in good health. I eat well, exercise moderately and have a fairly low stress job. Lately, though, I've been feeling the need to urinate about once an hour. It's so bad that I've started making sure I always know where the bathroom is.
What could be wrong?

Urinary frequency is a symptom which usually warrants medical evaluation. Urinary frequency may be the result of bladder irritation from an infection of the bladder or prostate. Urinary frequency may also represent diabetes mellitus, or the condition of bladder outlet obstruction from a closed urinary sphincter or enlarged prostate, or blockage in the urethra (urethral
stricture). Rarely cancers (bladder or prostate) may present by the symptoms of urinary frequency. Please see your physician for a thorough evaluation.
