Question:
Regarding By Gloria G. Brame, PhD, MPH article on BDSM activities...
I found it good that you do write about this stuff... but for heavens sake... spend a few hours in chat wiht the many r/l people and you'll find some of the definitions used in your article as being all up the wall.
I am not saying it's all way off, just the definitions used are so very detailed to us that perhaps it is worth a revision at some time soon.

Thanks for raising this point. Indeed, since none of the terms related to BDSM are officially defined by dictionaries, there are many different interpretations of what every expression actually means. For example, I've heard people define the expression 'lifestyle' in at least half a dozen different ways.
That said, the definitions I offer are the most common usages, based not only on many hours spent in chat rooms and surfing websites, but also from direct interviews and discussions with thousands of people since the 1980s. :-)
Finally, let me quote from the overview to the lexicon as it appears in Come Hither:
"Most of these terms are not set in stone. Indeed, people may disagree with some of my definitions. It's also important to note that the definitions of all the terms below are continually evolving, as people debate their meaning and strive to find new ways to articulate the realities of kinky sex."
