I’m assuming that you are concerned about STD (sexually transmitted diseases). It’s possible for you to get HSV 1 (Herpes Simplex Virus Type 1) from kissing. It usually shows up as cold sores or fever blisters on the lips, face & mouth. Most people have been infected with oral herpes from innocent childhood kisses by family. HSV 2(Herpes Simplex Virus Type 2) is usually below the waist, however, there is some crossover. Herpes simplex virus can be type 1 or 2, but it's still called genital herpes if the lesion is on the genitals. Although herpes can be a serious health issue for some, most experience discomfort & annoyance.
