Question:
My boyfriend and I have never had sex, but we do everything else. The other night I gave him a hand job and he cummed. While his penis was still wet, he rubbed against me. He did not put it in me, but is it possible I could be pregnent from him putting it too close?. (also, a friend of mine told me that once semen is exposed to air it dies,is that true?)

Your friend was correct that sperm “dies when exposed to air” except that pregnancy can take place without intercourse, so it obviously doesn’t “die” immediately. Search our site using the phrase “pregnancy without intercourse” for more details. It sounds like you are not having vaginal intercourse as a form of birth control. I applaud your decision to be sexually responsible & think that your choice to explore ways of lovemaking without intercourse is a sign of maturity. I suggest you continue to learn about non-intercourse sexuality by talking directly & honestly to one another about your concerns & to get any information you need from a reliable source such as our website &/or reading proven help books. I recommend "Our Bodies, Ourselves For The New Century," a book by & for women about health & sexuality, &/or, "Changing Bodies, Changing Lives," a book about sex & relationships. Both are by The Boston Women’s Health Collective. Keep making choices that enhance your sexual health & don’t hesitate to contact us again.
