Question:
Hi, I'm a 19-year-old male who's never had a serious girlfriend until a week ago. We're both devoted virgins. But here's the problem. After spending long periods of time together (whether kissing or petting or hugging...etc) I seem to have a constant erection. That normally wouldn't be a problem, but so far it's usually ended up causing I guess a "sore scrotum/testicles" syndrome. And I mean sore -- it's almost difficult to walk like that. Really...come to think of it, I sort of remember this happening a few years ago when I was starting to get involved with another girl as well. Is this normal (geez I hope not because it sucks!)? Should I have someone at the student health center check me out?

I believe what you are describing is known as blue balls - perfectly normal - where erection/excitment is there, but no physical release. Can you incorporate masturbation after or within the context of the relationship? I think that will help alot! Talk to your partner about what you are experiencing so they understand your concerns. Best wishes.
