I am perplexed as what you mean by "normal" way to masturbate and "your way" to masturbate. Without a more descriptive definition, I can't really help you. A visit to a sex therapist would be recommended and one can find one in your area by going to www.aasect.org. One physical reason that could be the answer is that if you were circumsized after birth, a lot of nerve endings were cut off and it could result in your needing intense pressure (and only you can create that pressure) to be able to reach orgasm. However, it could also be psychological issues, they can cause a lot of problems to one's sexual life if that be the case. As long as the type of masturbation that gets you off is private and not violating anyone / anything's personal rights, it's considered normal and fabulous. Each one of us responds to different sexual fantasies and/or behaviors. So fret not, but to be on the safe side, go see a sex therapist and be more graphic as to what works and what doesn't.
