Question:
I have been masturbating for a few years and have tried to stop a couple times, but I can't. Now, I do it whenever I can and am naked in the shower or on the toilet. I am just 14 1/2 now. So lately, I have noticed my scrotum appears darker and bluish and itches. What is this? On the side (excuse me); Personally and professionally do you have any feelings about masturbation?

Thank you for submitting your question. First of all, why do you want to stop? Masturbation is a safe and healthy way to explore your body. It is part of the sexual experience and can continue throughout one’s life. Masturbation should not cause you any medical problems. If your scrotum continues to itch, then perhaps you should see a doctor. It may be something skin-related (and not masturbatory). Also, remember that when a person is aroused, his scrotum may become a darker color. I hope that this information helps!
