Question:
Hi! It's been two years since i got my penis circumcised. Ever since it healed, I noticed couple of small bumps on the tip of the penis, near the opening. The color is the same as the penis itself. One of them is about 3mm long and 1mm wide. I don't think it has anything to do with STDs. What is it? Should i worry about it?

It does not seem likely that being circumcised would cause bumps to appear near the tip of the penis, as the foreskin that is removed during circumcision is not attached to the head of the penis, only covers it. The skin is cut down below the head or tip of the penis, then cut around the penis. I suppose if the penis were nicked by the cutting instrument during the procedure, a scar could result. Without a medical examiniation by a doctor it is not possible for me to diagnose what the bumps are, even with a picture. Some bumps can be caused by sexually transmitted infections, particularly genital warts or herpes. I would suggest a trip to a Planned Parenthood if you have ever been sexually active (had intercourse with penetration) and not used a condom. You won't need your parents permission to get checked out there or a local STD clinic. If you have not ever been sexually active, then it may be a blemish or scar from the procedure. Again, if you want to make sure, I advise you to seek medical advice.
