Ask a Question
Question:
I have no problems getting a erection. I often get plenty of erections But, my penis tends to leak semen-like fluid after each erection. For example when we are not having sex, but just making out on the sofa, I get an erection and after we stop kissing, the erection settles down and leaks fluid. Is this normal? Is this a form of premature ejaculation? How can I control this? Also, it\'s a bit embarrasing b/c I get an erection so quickly, even when we are just kissing in the streets. Is this common as well? thanks in advance

If the volume of the discharge you are describing is substantially less than what you would see with ejaculation, then you are likely describing what most people call precum. It is also known as pre-ejaculate. This is quite normal. Some men call this "getting wet," something that also occurs with women. Precum can contain viable sperm and also other fluids found in semen. (So, it is possible for a woman to become pregnant via precum.) A man can have a partial erection or no erection at all and still produce precum. Precum usually occurs because a man is thinking about sexual activity, engaging in foreplay, or engaging in other sex-related activities (e.g., kissing). It is the body's way of responding to sexual stimuli, and is very normal.Reviewed by: Patricia Fawver Ph.D. in Sexology
