A males sperm count remains relatively high for the better portion of his life. Men have been known to father children well into their seventh decade of life. The average healthy male who is in his 30's should produce approximately 300 million mature sperm a day. In each 1 ml of semen there are on average at least 20 million sperm and it only requires one sperm to fertilize an egg.
