Question:
My husband says that he can not hold an erection with a condom on. Is this possible or what do you suggest?

Well, it is certainly possible for this to happen, but without more detailed information, it will be difficult to narrow down. Most cases of erectile dysfunction where the man has difficulty keeping an erection often have to do with age, chronic illnesses, alcohol comsumption, psychological factors and some medications. Are these any factors that fit with your situation? Sometimes, a person's beliefs and values will interefere with the ability to function sexually. What are your husband's views on using condoms? Does he dislike using them? Does using them go against any religious values? Is he a cigarette smoker, or heavy drinker? Sometimes, alcohol use can interefere with a man's ability to maintain an erection, and if he drinks when you are going to have sex, the effects of the alcohol may be the culprit. Cigarette smoking can contribute to erectile dysfunction over time, due to vascular damage. Physical factors contribute to more than 50% of all cases of erectile dysfunction. Have you tried lubricating the inside of the tip of the condom before rolling it down? Sometimes, using a little extra lubricant can help increase pleasure and sensation. You may also want to try using a thinner material of condom, perhaps the tightness and thickness is inhibiting blood flow to the penis. Good luck and write back if you have any further questions.
