Question:
I was having sex with a woman and my condom kept riding up. I kept pulling the condom down to make sure that it stayed on. About a minute after, I checked and the condom had come off inside her. Was my condom off long enough for me to catch something from her? Does it matter that I did not cum inside her?

It’s possible that you caught something from her while the condom was off. Not ejaculating (cumming) doesn’t add to your protection. However, your chances of getting a sexually transmitted disease (STD) are reduced if you immediately stopped having intercourse & put on a new condom when the original one slipped off. Remember, the condom is your protection from any STD in her vaginal fluids. Be sure to put a condom on as soon as erection occurs & before any sexual contact. It’s important that you use condoms properly. You didn’t mention how experienced you are with condoms, but a condom can come off if you may put it on inside out, use too much lubrication or partially lose your erection. Practice using condoms while you masturbate if you aren’t 100% comfortable using them with a partner. Begin by squeezing the air out of the tip of the condom to leave room for your ejaculation while you place the unrolled condom on the tip of your erect penis. While continuing to hold the tip with one hand, unroll it the full length of your penis with the other hand. The roll should be on the outside of the condom. If you use water-based lubricant inside the condom to enhance your sensation, experiment to be sure you use the smallest amount. Otherwise, the condom will easily slip off during intercourse. If you have a partial erection hold the condom firmly until you regain a full erection or withdraw from the partner until fully erect. Using condoms can truly enhance lovemaking if you are relaxed, communicative & playful. Flavored condoms, having the partner put the condom on your penis & having plenty of extra condoms easily accessible will heighten both your pleasure & lessen the likelihood of losing the condom in future. Keep learning about your sexual health! Don’t hesitate to contact use again.
