This is an excellent question and an important one to understand so that you can use a contraceptive that will prevent pregnancy since that seems to be your worry. If you put your penis inside her vagina four days after her period ended, and some preejaculate fluid had sperm in it, it is possible that she could get pregnant. First, you don't know when she ovulated. The egg has only a 24 hour period of life, but since our bodies don't tell us when it is present usually, she or you can't predict when it takes place. Sperm has been found to be alive for as long as 7 days in a test tube environment. It is then assumed to be able to live that long in the body. It might make you feel better to know that there often isn't much sperm in pre-ejaculate fluid, but it is far safer if you don't want a pregnancy to find a better method to prevent that pregnancy. Even using a latex condom is far better than withdrawal, and combining condoms and withdrawal is even more effective.
