Question:
Could you please give me an idea as to how difficult intercourse is supposed to be? I'm not able to be penetrated, not even with artificial lube.Any attempt causes extreme pain/burning.My boyfriend says this normal for a virgin. Is it? Also,my partner's semen causes a burning sensation when near my vagina. Are we incompatible? PS I don't appear to have any inner labia-cause of problem?

In this case I think your boyfriend may be wrong. Even in a virgin, though there may be some discomfort, what you are describing to me seems to be much more extreme. The burning sensation, inability to put a small tampon it, using artificial lube and not having any success - these all suggest that you may have another condition. Actually the condition can be treated or you can learn to have wonderful sexual experiences in alternative ways that don't create pain. A therapist may not be of help to you because it isn't about anything psychological. In this case it may be medical. Not all doctors know how to treat this type of sexual pain. You may have "vulvodynia" or "vulvar vestibulitis" and you need to find a doctor that knows something about it (and doesn't suggest that it is all in your head. There are some web sites that you can go to to get more information about it. See if any of these help you. www.vulvodynia.com, www.vul-pain.dircon.co.uk www.obgyn.net and www.pelvicfloor.com I hope this will help you discover what is causing the extreme pain for you.
