Question:
HELLO DOCTOR LARRY,
I WANT TO ASK FROM U THAT IN HOW MANY DAYS OR HOW MANY DAYS ARE REQUIRED TO REPLINISH SPERM COUNT.
I HAVE READ AT THE INTERNET THAT IT TAKES 2 TO 3 DAYS OR EVEN 4 TO 5 DAYS IF GENERATION IS SLOW AFTER "A NORMAL EJACULATION".
ONE OF MY QUESTION IS THAT WHAT IS A NORMAL EJACULATION IS THAT SOMETHING ABOUT FREQUENCY OF EJACULATION.
I MASTURBATE WITH A FREQUENCY OF EVERY DAY, EVERY OTHER DAY OR EVERY 2 TO 3 DAYS OR EVEN 'TWICE A DAY' MANY TIMES A WEEK AND 5 TO 6 DAYS A WEEK.
I KNOW THAT I AM ADDICTED TO MASTURBATION AND INTERNET PORN BUT NOW I'M MARRIED AND IT HAS CREATED PROBLEMS IN MY MARRIED LIFE.
I AM 26 AND MASTURBATE USING INTERNET PORN, ME AND MY WIFE IS PLANNING FOR A BABY AND SHE HAD NO MEDICAL PROBLEM IN REGARDS OF GIVING BIRTH TO A CHILD AND DOCTORS HAVE SAID AFTER MY THREE OF MY SEMEN ANALYSIS REAPORTS THAT I MASTURBATE TOO FREQUENTLY AND GIVE IT A BREAK BUT IT JUST HAPPENS AND I CAN NOT CONTROL IT
1-HOW MANY DAYS IT TAKES SPERM COUNT TO GET BACK NORMAL AFTER EJACULATION TWICE A WEEK?
AS I ALWAYS GET A NOCTURNAL EMISSION AFTER ON THE SAME DAY I HAD MASTURBATE OR SEX WITH MY WIFE.
2- HOW MANY EJACULATIONS PER WEEK WILL NOT AFFCT SPERM COUNT?

Thanks for writing in and please accept my apologies for not getting back to you sooner. Sperm production is something is going on constantly. It is true that the more ejaculations you have in a relatively short period, the more depleted your sperm supply is. In general, sperm levels reach "normal" after 2-3 days but, as you said, there are times when it might take longer. There's no magic mathematical formula for how many times a week you can ejaculate and how it affects your sperm count: The more often you ejaculate, the longer it will take.
AS far as normal frequency of masturbation, the general guideline is as long as it doesn't interfere with your life or relationships. It seems that it is negatively impacting yours.
You say that you know you are "addicted" to internet porn and that it's created problems in your marriage. You also say that you can't control your masturbation or even ejaculations (having nocturnal emmissions). I would suggest you talk with a medical professional to see if medication might not be warranted. The antidepressant Wellbutrin, for example, has been fairly effective in dealing with compulsive behavior disorders. I would also recommend finding a sex therapist that is also knowledgable about compulsive disorders.
Since having a baby is an important consideration here, you may also want to look into taking supplements of the amino acid, l-arginine. There is some evidence that l-arginine might help with sperm production.
I hope this was of some help to you. Good luck and I wish you all the best in finding peace and fertility.Reviewed by Sexual Health Editorial Team
