Question:
I have been frustrated for years over what is "normal" sexually and what is not. I have many desires that I am not sure are normal. This causes quite a bit of stress in my life almost to the point of being disabling. I need to communicate with someone that I am comfortable with and be open and not have to feel embarressed. I would go to a therapist if I could find a female that I felt comfortable with. I need to ask questions like is it normal to want to expose yourself, or rather have your genitals exposed while looking at someone and masturbating. I would not offend anyone but right now I can hardly keep from touching myself I am so aroused. My medications depress feeling in my penis and I want to be able to touch myself and arouse myself with my hands, this worries me.

I would suggest contacting The American Association of Sex Educators, Counselors, and Therapists (AASECT) at www.aasect.org in order to find a therapist or counselor in your local area. You have more questions than I can answer based on the limited information I have. You could greatly benefit from some direct feedback from a therapist. All your questions are valid and you should not be afraid of asking them, once you have found a counselor. It also sounds from your additional information as if you have some guilt issues around sex, and a therapist can also help you to get to the bottom of this. All the best, Annette Owens, MD PhD
