Question:
OK here's my problem and question, I was suppose to start my ......... on 10/21/05 and it has not shown up yet, I had sex around my ovulation period and the condom broke. I took a pregnancy test it said not pregnant, but I still have not started and the date now is 11/08/05, and my period is normally on schedule.

QUESTIONS: 1.CAN YOU STILL OVULATE AFTER A MISSED MENSTRUAL CYCLE? 2. AM I PREGNANT, COULD THE TEST BEEN WRONG

Hi and thanks for your question. I strongly recommend that you go and get another pregnancy test done right away. Because of the way that they work, pregnancy tests (even the ones done at a clinic) are not accurate until after your first missed period. I am assuming that you have a pretty regular schedule if you know about when you ovulate each month. The time period around ovulation is when you are most fertile and likely to get pregnant. With the condom breaking at that time, your chances of getting pregnant are pretty good. If you happen to be pregnant, I would suggest that you speak to your doctor or someone at a nearby clinic about pregnancy options where they will give you in depth information about the three choices that you would have if you are pregnant. If you are not pregnant and something like this occurs again, please remember that we have the Emergency Contraception pill available. Contact a doctor, clinic, or the emergency room as soon as you can after a condom breaks or other time when protection wasn't used to get the pills. You have up to 5 days to take the pills, but the sooner you take it, the better. You can also call 1-888-NOT-2-LATE to find a location near you that offers the ECP.

I wish you the best of luck and health, Take care, M. Scott Gross
