Question:
Hello Konstance, I am working on a project to make sexual health information available to people with disabilities who use AAC (augmentative communication for people who can not speak). This is a population that is at a high risk for sexual assault/abuse, and the staggering statistics have been the catalyst for this project. I am looking for information about sexual health for people with disabilities... practical information that could be adapted for people who use AAC as most sexual education assumes you have the use of your hands and feet and voice. ( for example, how to use a diaphram with a mobility impairment and negotiating safer sex if you are non-verbal). Anything you know about would be extremely useful. i realize you are not a disability expert but i thought you might know of something as you are a sex educator.thank you.

Thanks for asking such an excellent question. I am not a disability expert as you noted though I might have sexuality education curriculum information for people with disabilities.
I do not know anything about the question you asked and would advise you to give the question to Dr. Mitch Tepper who is also an expert on this site. He may be able to help you far better than I can.
Thanks for the question anyway.Reviewed by: Patricia Fawver Ph.D. in Sexology
