Question:
I have a long distance relationship with my boyfriend and after seeing eachother after about a month, I get quite swollen after sex. I was just wondering if it's just beacuse we don't do it that often, with the friction and all. After being together for a couple of days it goes away, it just seems to be the first 2 or 3 days!

I agree that the most likely cause of your irritation is "friction" from intercourse. If you haven't seen each other for some time, you might get "carried away" and have more aggressive and frequent intercourse which can lead to microscopic vaginal trauma- which you perceive as inflammation. Another possibility is that you may be allergic to the condoms or spermacide (if you use either of these for contraception.) However, this would not explain why your irritation goes away after a few days. Lastly, a long shot explanation is that he is using a different soap when he is away from you. If you are allergic to his soap you may be having a reaction to the soap that is still on his skin when he first comes to see you. After a few days, after he uses your soap, you stop having an allergic reaction.
