Without an examination from an physician or health
care provider, it is impossible to prove that there
is not some physical obstruction that is preventing
your partner's penis from entering your vagina.
However, since you have had one vaginal delivery and
are able occasionally to have intercourse, this seems
unlikely. More likely, your problem is one of the
following:
The most likely possibility is that you are not
sufficiently lubricated to allow your partner's penis to enter you easily. The best way to solve this problem is to make sure you are adequately
aroused before attempting intercourse. This problem is
most easily overcome with adequate foreplay (sexual
touching and caressing prior to intercourse.) You can
also use vaginal lubricants such as Astroglide,
Surgilube, or Slippery Stuff.
Another possible reason the penetration is difficult
is that you do not sufficiently relax the muscles of
the vagina to allow penetration. This condition is
called vaginismus. However, pain usually accompanies
vaginismus and you do not mention that penetration is
painful.
Lastly, You partner's penis may not be sufficiently
firm to allow for penetration. If this is the cause of
your problem, there are medicines such as Viagra that
will help him achieve a firmer erection.
