Thanks for writing in with your question. The first thing I want to say to you is RELAX!!!! You mentioned that your girlfriend was giving you a handjob and that a little bit of your ejaculate got on her hand. Then, several hours later, she went to the bathroom and forgot to wash her hands. The odds of getting pregnant from what you describe are virtually impossible. Several factors combine to make it so. First of all, sperm dies out when it is exposed to the open air. Ejaculate fluid dries up fairly quickly and sperm cannot live in a non-moist environment. So, any sperm that would have been on her hand would have dried and died in the several hours that elapsed. Secondly, when she used the bathroom, she may not have even touched her genitals except with the toilet paper. Also, it is not uncommon for menstrual cycles to vary by several days. So, being one day late on a period is usually not cause for concern. In order to get pregnant from 'masturbation' sex, your girlfriend (or you) would have to have wet ejaculate on your hand and then touch her genitals. Even then, the sperm would have to get up inside her vagina and on to the uterus. The odds of conception occuring under these circumstances are extremely low, but it is a possibility. However, if you are concerned about pregnancy, there are some simple things that you can do to make sure that a pregnancy doesn't occur. First of all, get a lubricant that contains spermicide (such as non-oxynol 9 or 15). You can buy this at any drug store. It is usuallly sold in the aisle where the condoms are located. Use this as lubrication when you are engaging in manual stimulation of your genitals. Spermicide kills sperm. Another thing you can do is to get contraceptive inserts. These are sold in the same aisle. They are little waxy suppositories that are inserted into the vagina. They melt inside the vagina after about 10-15 minutes and they also contain a spermicide which kills sperm. Your girlfriend could also use a diaphragm or a contraceptive sponge as another layer of protection. With these precautions in place, you and your girlfriend should be able to relax and just enjoy yourselves without having to worry about an unwanted pregnancy. I am glad that you both have found pleasurable ways to express yourselves sexually with one another. I hope this information helps you. Write back if you have any further questions. Thanks, Patty Fawver
