Question:
Since I have been sexually active, I have noticed two things that have bothered me. First; occasionally I will lose my erection if I am moving around while NOT having intercourse (i.e. - giving my partner oral sex). I will have one in the beginning but if I do something for my partner and it is not being touched in some way, my erection will go down. Second; more infrequently than the first, even if I am sexually aroused by my partner - I have to get "help" from my partner to get it up. Once it is up, I'm fine but I feel like that should not have to happen like that, that it should go up on it's own - without help.

Hi: Erectile dysfunction is defined by the persistent inability to attain and maintain an erection for satisfactory sexual intercourse. Based on your story, you do not appear to have this. You should not worry about your erection if you do not have a problem that affects performance. Dr. G.
