I am looking for sex education programs for developmentally disabled adults in the NewYork City/Brooklyn area. Any leads?

Thank you for your question. I'm afraid that I don't know a lot about programs in the New York City/Brooklyn area. I would like to clarify your question, however. If you are looking for programs for training people who are interested in this subject -- you could contact SIECCUS and/or ASSECT. They may be able to help you. In addition, there may be something at the Young Adult Institute in New York. They put out materials that are specifically geared to people with developmental disability. If you are looking for ongoing training on behalf of a client who has a developmental disability -- I would urge you to get some training for yourself! You need a little bit of equipment -- some training in group dynamics for non-academic learners and a network of support people who are also doing similar training. You will find a network at this site!! I would be happy to help you in any way I can via E-mail!
