Question:
Does over-mastrubation creates any problems ?

Answer:
by Julian Slowinski:
(05/18/2004)
The question about the potential harmful effects of "over masturbation" is difficult to answer as it is stated. I presume the question can refer to both males and females. If the questioner is referring to anxiety about or guilt caused from masturbating, then even one time can become a cause for concern for that person if they are experiencing guilt. A knowledgeable counselor can be of help to provide information about dealing with masturbatory associated guilt. Studies show that the frequency of masturbation can vary greatly from once or even several times a day to only on occasion. A concern that many health experts would have is the degree of compulsivity that accompanies masturbation frequency, and the freedom for the person to engange or not to engage in the activity. If a male or female is concerned about pain, irritation, or discomfort from masturbation, a physician should be consulted. However, most experts note that the body requires a certain period of rest (the refractory period) between male ejaculations, and the body will limit itself to how much stimulation it will tolerate in good health. Again, if there are any health-related doubts or concerns, seek the advice of a physician. Dr. Slowinski
