Question:
I'm 30yrs old male and used to have a very good erection. All of sudden i have not had an erection for few weeks now (usually i get around 4/5 times erection a day and some time i used to have diff. in controlling my erection) Even when i try to have an erection using my hand, i'm not able to get one. No morning erection also. Just before this happened, i masturbated 4times in row noe day. A day before that i was with my girl friend and i was not able to control my erection and inspite of my control i had ejected. But during ejection i felt as though some thing bust inside (near abdomen and the penis joining area). I deeply worried as i'm planning to get married shortly. Please advice. (I was also depressed due to some personel matters for a month when this happened).

Hi, and thanks for your question. It sounds like this is causing you a lot of grief.
Loss of an erection is common for men of all ages, and can be caused by a variety of factors. You may be having trouble with controlling your erections due to stress or anxiety. Being worried about not getting an erection makes it that much easier to not get an erection. You also mention depression which can play a very large role in being able to control an erection.
However, there are a couple of things that you said that lead me to believe that your difficulty in getting erections may be physical in nature. It is highly unlikely that you hurt yourself masturbating; it is almost impossible to really hurt yourself seriously from masturbation. You said that you haven't had erections in the morning and that is a sign that a doctor would look for to determine if there is a physical problem. When you felt like something "bust" in your abdomen did you feel any pain? Something may have happened there that is making it difficult if not impossible for you to get an erection. I would reccommend that you see a doctor as soon as possible.
I know that this is probably making you worried and upset, but try not to worry. Help is available, and as I said countless numbers of men suffer from erectile problems and the problem is usually temporary for them. I think you need to see a doctor or a urologist as soon as you can, and he or she will be able to help you from there. Good luck, and feel free to ask any other questions you might have.Reviewed by: Patricia Fawver Ph.D. in Sexology
