Question:
I am a bachelor working at outstation. I do lot of masturbation at outstation and at home as well. I do it on the bed most of the times (both the places). In the bathroom when at home(I wash it once it over). How much is the possibility of anyone (female members of family) getting pregnant when get in contact with unwiped semen (wet/dry) due to the spillage of semen in the bed sheets/clothes/linen remain unwashed/unchanged for a time and in the way of others using same toilet items like soap, towel (wet/dry), etc in the same bathroom which were used by me a time after masturbation. This fear aroused me after I had read an article, which told that a bullet went through a soldier hip, also hit a woman stomach made her pregnant.

Due to the above causes, I am overcautious of using toilet items. I fear to use the same bedsheets/clothes/towel even after washing ( I purchased new one to get rid of this fear). I even stopped visiting others houses. I mentally disturbed. Please also clarify:-

(a) How long will the sperm survive when spilled over clothes? Will it get revive/resurrect by wetnesss by water while soking in the bucket or touching?

(b) Can I use the same clothes/linen after washing?

(c) I used to bring all those semen stained cloth in the bag to home from the outstation when on leave. What happen if these cloth get mixup with female's clothes?

(d) Finally, Is it possible to get pregnant in this way?

The spilled semen can cause pregnancy only when it comes into direct contact with a woman's vagina during her fertile days, that too as soon as it is ejaculated. The spermatozoa do not survive for more than an hour in the room tempertaure and conditions nor do they find soaps as green pastures. Even if they survive for a while, they lose their fertilizing capacity. Once dried up, the spermatozoa are dead, and will not come to life when soaked in water or any other liquid.

This means, that the odds of pregnancy occurring from semen spilled on towels, sheets, linen etc. is very low unless the wet semen comes into direct contact with moist area of the vagina within a few minutes after ejacultaion, during the woman's fertile period. If you wash/wipe yourself clean and dispose off the tissue after ejaculation, you need not be concerned about the risk of causing pregnancy. Once the semen dries up on the clothes, nothing hapens even if they get mixed up with others' clothes. You can use the stained clothes after washing.

I do not believe that a bullet fired through a man's hip carries semen on it while piercing another woman's body and cause pregnancy. If it really did it is a one-in-millions case.

If these fears still haunt you or if you continue to feel uncomfortable with visiting friends and relatives on account of this, or worried about using towels and other toilet materials, please do seek the assistance of a psychiatrist.
